How did you meet?

"We met when we were both just turning 18.  We both worked in Primark together and became friends. Shortly after we started dating for a short while but it didn’t come to anything. We remained friends and then three years later we got back together. Now we’ve been together for just over 7 years!"

Tell us about the proposal!

"We had been talking about getting married for a while, we are in the age group where all of our friends are either married or engaged and so it has been on our minds for a while. Then on a Sunday Morning in October James asked if I wanted to go early Christmas shopping to try and be a bit more organised. I was putting my shoes on and then I turned around and he was down on one knee in front of me in our hallway. It was all a ploy to get me to go ring shopping and of course I said yes!"

How did you choose the ring?

"We went into Drakes Circus and visited a couple of shops. The ring we chose was actually the first one that we saw. We didn’t go in to the shop but went to look in other windows and then came right back to this one."

How did you feel about winning a free engagement shoot with Melanie Barnfield?

"Excited. We had talked about whether to have engagement photos taken and had decided initially that we weren’t going to. Then it was announced that we had won and so we took the opportunity to go and have some photos taken."

Did you enjoy your engagement shoot and was it what you expected?

"Yes, we both really enjoyed the time spent with Mel at Wembury Beach. She was so good at getting us to relax despite us both feeling a bit awkward to start with. We had a good giggle and have got some really lovely photos from it. I don’t think we really knew what to expect as we aren’t particularly good at posing for photos but Mel was fantastic the whole way through. She is very creative and came to the shoot with ideas of different things that we could do whilst having the photos taken that made them look natural rather than forced."

What are you most looking forward to with planning your wedding?

"The majority of the big stuff is planned, so I think we are both looking forward to the food festival that we go to at our venue to help us pick which food we want for the day. Also dress shopping is something that I really can’t wait to do, I’ve had my appointments booked for about 6 weeks due to other commitments so I’m excited that they are now coming up soon!"

We wish Leanne and James all the best with planning their wedding and cannot wait to see photos!
