Summer is here and whether you’re going on holiday or having a staycation, Drakes, Plymouth wanted to give you our top 3 summer engagement tips!
Planning your proposal is so important. Not just the obvious things like time and place but the minor details such as if its outside what will you do if it rains or how to hide the ring. Every detail is important, no matter how big or small you think it may be.
If you’re planning your proposal to be on a romantic holiday, find your bearings over the first few days and scout out a few different spots where you think the proposal will work. It’s a great idea to do your research before you go so that you have a rough idea of where you would like to pop the question. This will also give you the chance to visit the location before the big moment so you can check that it’s perfect for you both.
Alternatively if you are staying closer to home this summer, a great idea is to propose somewhere that is special to you both. Whether this be a first date location or just your favourite place to visit, it adds an extra special touch if you propose in a location that you both love and are familiar with.
Whether you’re traditional and ask for permission from your future fiancé’s father or you ask their mother or another close family member, it’ll always be appreciated by your partner and their family will always be grateful in you doing so. You could make an occasion of it and ask permission over dinner or coffee or you could just have a quiet word when you’ve popped over to the parents’ house. Asking permission will also give you piece of mind that they are happy for you to go ahead with the exciting but life changing question you are about to ask.
Although proposing will probably be one of the most nerve-wracking moments of your life, try to enjoy it. It’s your special moment that’ll be the beginning of a story that’ll be retold for years to come. Try your best to relax and take in the moment, however hard that may seem!
We wish you all the luck in the world with your summer proposal. Don’t’ forget, if it is a Drakes proposal, hashtag your photos with #MyDrakesLoveStory so we can see your gorgeous proposal pics.
