Posted on March 29th, 2018
With the recent spell of interesting weather that seems to be threatening to return, you may be wondering what on earth to do over the Easter weekend. We have put together some ideas for you that will be fun for all the family come rain or shine!
Getting out and about;
There are a large number of events being held in and around Plymouth over the Easter period ranging from Easter Egg Hunts to rock pooling.
The National Trust website is a great place to start when it comes to looking for Easter Eggs Hunts. They host such a fantastic array of activities. It’s as simple as typing in your postcode to find out where the closest helping of Easter fun is for you!
On Easter Sunday, Royal William Yard are hosting their Easter Wonderland. There will be a Mad Hatters Tea Party, Easter egg hunt and their famous Good Food market will be there. An event that all the family can enjoy.
Elsewhere in Plymouth on Easter Sunday there will be a rock pool safari at Wembury Beach. A great opportunity for the kids to learn about sea life whilst having fun at one of our favourite spots!
For those who like baking;
If however the weather is not on our side this Easter, we have come up with a few activities to keep you entertained.
With so many chocolate eggs floating around at Easter time, it’s a great idea to get baking and transform them into a delicious chocolatey treat. Chocolate nests, chocolate brownies and chocolate cakes, the list of chocolatey delights is endless. If you would like some more inspiration on some easy Easter treats to make, have a look at our Pinterest, where we have shared some of our favourites for you to try. Baking is a fun and easy way to get all the family involved this Easter.
To unlock your creative side;
Another Easter rainy day idea that we have come up with here at Drakes is arts and crafts. Whether you find a chick stencil online for the kids to colour or you decide to make your own Easter baskets to use for an Easter egg hunt, the Drakes Pinterest page has some great ideas for you to try.
A quieter Easter weekend;
If the hustle and bustle of an Easter event isn’t for you and you don’t fancy getting your hands dirty doing a bit of baking then there are so many spots in Plymouth that are beautiful come whatever the weather. Last year we published ‘Our Favourite Local Spots’ showing you some of the Drakes, Plymouth teams favourite places to go in Plymouth. Why not have a quick read to see if the likes of Royal William Yard, Burrator Reservoir or Lopwell Dam take your fancy for a leisurely Easter weekend walk or a bite to eat.
We hope this post has provided you with some Easter inspiration and from everyone at Drakes, Plymouth we wish you a Happy Easter Weekend!
